Nature holds magical beauty. Humans take great pleasure in
nature because of the intertwined relationships of life, air and
earth. Christopher Gauthier's photography takes us on a journey
throughout the world. The experiences and places he depicts
greatly resonate with viewers, as if the beauty of nature is awaking
before our eyes. Gauthier's portfolio, however, balances visions
of nature with the man-made.
Accurate or not, the international image of Bangkok after dark
is synonymous with sleaze. While the Thai capital does have a
proliferation neon lit go-go bars, the nocturnal life of the sprawling
metropolis is more kaleidoscopic and poetic than the narrowminded
perception typically expounded by the world media.
Everyone in Thailand's photography industry has heard of Noppadon
Chotasiri, who is affectionately known as 'Uncles Zien'. He is one of our
top photographers. I began our interview by asking him about how his
career began.
